Stress is your body’s ways of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which puts the body in emergency action.
I think all of us have been in some sort of stressful situation at some point in our life. Stressed about your job, about your kids or just stressed about the future. It’s inevitable. Stress can affect your body, your thoughts, feelings and your behaviours. Although there is no cure for stress, there are many ways that you can manage your stress on a daily basis. Setting boundaries for your day is a great way to manage your stress. You can make a list of everything that you need to accomplish in a day and if you see that one particular thing is adding stress to your life, see if you can eliminate it from your daily routine. You MUST be able to balance work and rest or else stress will start eating you alive. Listed below are some other ways you can try to relieve stress:
Eat as healthy as you can. When you’re stressed, you’ll probably want less-nutritious comfort foods, but if you overdo them, they’ll add to your programs. Focus on fruits, vegetables, grains and protein.
Make sure to get enough rest and sleep. Your body needs time to recover from stressful events.
Exercise regularly. You’ll feel more prepared to handle problems. You can also try relaxation techniques, such as; meditation or yoga.
Remember to make time for yourself and do the things that you enjoy doing.
